DRCI-Drona SEED Research Grant

This grant is given in partnership mode (a collaboration between the Design Research Council of India and Drona Seeker. This grant is awarded to budding design researchers who are life members of DRCI submitting proposals on cutting-edge research areas of design and technology to be submitted in DST research project proposal format has to be sent with a cover letter to hony.secretary@drci.in and CC to ceo@dronasseker.co.in This design and technology research grant amount is upto 2 lacs. Applicants should be an Indian citizen and must have a design/technology/equivalent research degree along with an expertise in applied area of reseach.

Design Drona Award (for best faculty)

Every year Drona Seeker invites applications for this award. This award is dedicated to faculty mentors in the field of design who potentially contributes in design education and design research.

Award Value:

INR 50k along with a certificate and memento. The award money will be transferred directly to the bank account of the award winner.

Who is Eligible For Application?

Any Faculty mentor of Indian origin, continuing their mentoring in Design at any Institute or University of repute in the field of design.

Application Procedure

All applications are invited in a standard application format along with all evidences for teaching and mentoring activities and recent publication details (Jan-Dec of the Academic Year) mentioning in a short CV, an endorsement letter from the head of the department or head of the institution (mandatory for the candidate who is acting HoD in the application cycle) stating student experience and satisfaction score/ NPS score on 5 or 10 point scale, and three contact details of students directly mentored by the applicant (for the purpose of endorsement letter for the nomination of the award). Drona Seeker will ask for bank account details (account number, IFSC code, Bank Name, Branch Name, etc.) in case the applicant is shortlisted for the award.

Evaluation Criteria:

Mentoring Excellence (80%): Effective Teaching/Mentoring Pedagogy in Design Education, Knowledge and Skill Transfer Capability/ Delivery of Teaching Contents, Student Feedbacks, Effective Curriculum Design, Learning Materials Development, Mentoring Outside Classroom, Invited lectures or workshops conducted outside parent Institute, Measures taken for slow learners and fast learners, etc.

Research Excellence (20%): Number of Publications in an academic cycle (Jan-Dec), Number of IPR (design registration, patent, trademark, copyright etc.)Number of citation, H-10 index, Research Grants, Consultancy, Industrial Collaborations, etc.

Drona Design DOT Award(s) for Students / Professionals

Drona Design Award is a prestigious DESIGN AWARD in the Field of Design, generally organized by dronaseeker.co.in, India in association with many design colleges and universities in India. This award is generally given to an individual Designer OR a team of Designers / Design Aspirants / Design Students (usually 2 to 3 members in a group, however, up to 6 members in a group are allowed) who are coming up with interesting, novel, and implementable ideas on UX & UI Design or Product or product-service-system (PSS).

#Two winning teams (one UX & UI and one for Product/ PSS) will be Awarded INR 10k from dronaseeker.co.in along with a DESIGN DRONA CERTIFICATE.

Drona Student Scholarships

Category 1:

School and college students especially underprivileged students can apply for a grant of up to INR 20k for scientific/art expeditions or excursions or contingency or tuition fees Or mini projects, only for one time in an academic cycle. School and college-going students can apply through the proper channels (School Head/Principal), throughout the year. A family income certificate issued by the chair/member of the municipal corporation or panchayat and an endorsement letter from the school head/principal is mandatory. Supporting documents such as the last 2 Grade sheets/ Results, school identity card, Aadhaar card, and any other supporting documents are important to send along with the application.

Category 2:

Ph.D. scholars can apply for this fellowship to attend national and international conferences. The maximum grant amount is up to INR 35k. They may apply for this grant along with evidence of registration fees, ticket booking details, conference website link, and paper acceptance letter, only once in a year. This scholarship is applicable throughout the year, through proper channels (an endorsement letter from the supervisor and head of the Institute justifying the need for a grant is mandatory).
